About Time I Got Started On This Journey

About Time I Got Started on this journey into the unknown . . .

. . . and I’m not talking about the current global crisis that has (and still is) affecting everyone to some degree or another.  Hopefully this post will be my first and last reference to the dreaded viral catastrophe, but I have an uneasy feeling that it will still be around well into 2022 and beyond.

There is a little light at the end of the tunnel which is not an oncoming train, but a spark of hope for the future.  I have absolutely ZERO interest in taking an overseas holiday right now, and I suspect that to be my mindset for the foreseeable future.

From my own perspective very little has changed since February 2020.  We have stayed in the house or garden for most of that time – with an occasional foray into ASDA for essential medication and C0-Op for the odd item missed off the weekly Tesco delivery.  That’s the end of the free shopping plugs.

Moving on then…

Like most of the world, I have spent a lot of time with my computer trying hard to avoid the newsfeeds where possible and instead looking to improve my life for the better.  Having reached 71 not out I have come to accept that my current state of [un]fitness is here to stay.  No more rugby for me!  A gentle walk with our dog, Buddy – AKA Budrick-The-Not-So-Bold – is about as much as I can – or want to – manage.
