Hi there folks, I have an update on the ransom thing . . .
It’s been 4 months now since the episode of the FB hijack & subsequent ransom attempt. I’m only just coming to terms with the scale of the damage that this mindless excuse for a human has caused me and my business.
My biggest concern is that my confidence has been severely dented [shattered?]. I had thought that I was making some headway into the “black art” of affiliate marketing – but not so sure now.
I’m trying hard to put a positive spin on the whole sorry story and the only tiny scrap of “good news” I can report is that I didn’t pay him/her anything. I’m quite sure that even if I had paid up, I would not have got the account back anyway, so I saved a few squid there.
Also, no guarantee that the integrity of the site would be intact when I got it back anyway!
Bottom line?
I’m just going to start again from scratch with all aspects and hope Pondlife has not caused irreparable damage to my reputation – I’m painfully aware that my lists had been targetted, purporting to be me.
That’s it for now. I’ll tryto post updates as things progress with the new site(s) and FB group(s).
